If you're a consumer based in the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom (UK), you have certain rights when you buy from Shtein Gallery — sometimes called "distance selling" rights. The main one is a right to change your mind and return most orders within 14 days, no reason needed. This page explains how that works here, in plain language. It's a summary, not a complete statement of the law.

These rights apply if you're an individual buying for personal use — not for a trade, business, craft or profession — and you're resident in the EU/EEA or UK.

Your right to change your mind

You can withdraw from your purchase, without giving a reason, within 14 days of receiving your order. This "cooling-off period" starts the day after your order arrives (or, if it arrives in more than one parcel, the day after the last one arrives).

To withdraw, email us at [email protected] and tell us clearly that you want to withdraw from your purchase, or use the written notice at the bottom of this page. You don't have to give a reason, though it helps us if you do.

Examining your order

While you decide, you're welcome to examine the item to check it's what you expected, in the same way you would in a shop before buying. What you shouldn't do is start using it as if you'd already decided to keep it. Please take good care of the item and its packaging while it's in your possession — if it comes back to us having lost value beyond what a reasonable inspection would explain, we may deduct that amount from your refund.

Sending it back

Once you've told us you're withdrawing, send the item back to us within 14 days, in its original packaging where possible, together with anything that was included with it. Please use secure, insured shipping — the item is your responsibility until it reaches us, so if it's lost or damaged on the way back, that cost falls to you rather than to us. Return shipping is paid by you.

Your refund

Once we've received the item back in the condition it was sent, we'll refund the purchase price to your original payment method, within 14 days of receiving it back (or of you showing us you've sent it, if that's sooner). Shipping on Shtein Gallery is always free, so there's no separate delivery charge to refund on top of the purchase price. Any import duties or taxes your own country charged on the original delivery aren't something we're able to refund.

A few items aren't covered

By law, some categories of item don't carry this 14-day right to change your mind:

Items whose price depends on a financial or commodities market we don't control — this can apply to items like gold, silver, diamonds and other precious materials.

Sealed items whose seal has been broken after delivery — for example sealed trading cards, comics, or audio/video recordings.

Items made or personalised specifically to your own specification.

Items that deteriorate or expire quickly.

If an item you're buying falls into one of these categories, we'll always say so on the product page before you order.

If something's actually wrong with your order

Separate from the right to change your mind above: if an item you receive isn't as described or turns out to be faulty, you're covered by a legal guarantee of at least one year from delivery (the exact term can be longer depending on where you live). Email us at [email protected] with your order details and a description of the problem, and we'll sort it out — a repair, a replacement or a refund, depending on the situation.

If delivery is late

If your order doesn't arrive within the delivery window we've given you, let us know and we'll agree a new, reasonable delivery date. If we miss that date too, you're entitled to cancel the order and receive a full refund.

Written notice of withdrawal

You don't need to use this exact wording, but if it's helpful, you can send us an email along these lines:

"To Varando LTD ([email protected]): I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract of sale for the following item(s), ordered on [date] and received on [date]. Name: [your name]. Address: [your address]. Date: [today's date]."
