KUNIMICHI LINEAGE A Yamashiro Wakizashi Edo period (1615-1868), 17th century Hirazukuri, iorimune forged in itame hada with a gunome midare tempered edge ending in a midare komi bōshi , the omote side chiseled with Fudo Myō-o below the Sanskrit character for his name, the ura side with gomabashi , the machiokuri tang with one hole and signed Dewa no Daijō Fujiwara Kunimichi , with a two-piece copper habaki ; in a wood shirasaya storage scabbard Nagasa (length from tip of blade to beginning of the tang) 40.5cm (16in) long.
