Charcoal on blue paper, later framed. Signed 'Carlini' lower right. Artwork 25cm x 29cm. Framed and glazed 57cm x 39.5cm. Giulio Carlini (1826/30–1887) was a prominent Venetian painter and photographer, widely celebrated for his elegant portraiture and grand historical scenes during the 19th century. Academy Education (1845–1850). Condition: Slight creasing in areas to the paper, see images. No signs of restoration. There are unrelated historical water stains on the back of the frame, but the item is dry. I note the artwork was mounted after the frame had already sustained these marks.
